Marrakesh Reviews
Food fans are flocking to Marrakesh, the hottest restaurant in town. This is an experience and among the best of ethnic restaurants in the area with the added bonus of an exquisite meal coupled with exotic entertainment. --"Metropolitan Home" This can turn out to be one the most unforgettable evenings in Washington and is especially nice if you bring a group of friends just to celebrate life. No one will go away hungry and you may be tempted to come back again and again to remind yourself that you were not just dreaming about eating a wonderful selection of dishes ranging from spiced vegetables to tenderly seasoned meats. -- "Survivor's Guide to Washington" From your arrival at Marrakesh you realize that you have come upon something that is unique. Each course was wonderfully prepared. Marrakesh is a truly memorable experience. From the warm welcome to the inviting music to the seven courses of authentic Moroccan cuisine to the artistry of a talented belly dancer, you will not be disappointed. -- Father Kieran, "The Hoya" of Georgetown University Entering Marrakesh is like arriving at Oz. Marrakesh' unhurried attentive service plus the sheer coziness can lead to the sharing of secrets and sentimental stories, with more than a few laughs. The Marrakesh manages with ease presenting both a family atmosphere with something for every palate and entertainment that is alluring, but tasteful. -- Joe Brown, "Washington Post" Mysterious, sensuous, exciting, and exotic, the Marrakesh restaurant introduces a delightful, new, and welcome dimension to our international city. While there are other restaurants presenting foreign cuisines, Marrakesh offers in addition unique entertainment, a dizzying array of delectable courses, and the warmth of its staff. -- "Survivor's Guide to Washington" Marrakesh is a destination restaurant, an "event" restaurant with a set menu seven course dinner of family style Moroccan food seven nights a week. Once behind the huge doors of the entrance, you enter into a world apart where you can feast, be served like a sultan, and forget your daily cares. -- Judith Olney, "Washington Times" I'm not sure I'll be able to find any other restaurant that can match Marrakesh' combination of an upbeat atmosphere, good food, and friendly waitstaff. Portions are generous and the variety from lamb and beef to delicious vegetarian dishes is excellent. -- Brett Loubert, "Kentlands Town Crier" Magical and unexpected things happen very quickly each of the seven courses was handsomely presented and perfectly prepared. It is hard to imagine how the Marrakesh kitchen can manage such incredible variations on lamb and beef, vegetables and couscous, and end with the perfection of hot mint tea. -- Irwin Arieff and Deborah Baldwin, "City Paper" It's very seldom that I'm completely blown away by a restaurant. Eating at Marrakesh can only be described as an experience. The sounds of Moroccan music and spirited conversation filled the room. Keeping in line with the Moroccan culture, most of the courses are eaten by hand. Marrakesh also offers a vegetarian alternative and has a separate room (complete with your own belly dancing show) for private parties. -- Brett Loubert, "Kentlands Town Crier" |
